Subscribe to the Coaching Corner today!
Welcome to the inaugural issue of Coaching Corner. Every Thursday I'll provide you with ideas, tips, examples of tools I use in coaching and other surprises. It's my hope to help you along and keep you on the path of living "Your Life, Your Way".
On this path you are in charge of your life. You live on purpose. You're happier and have more energy. Wonderful things you never expected appear. I know this because it's happened for my clients and it's happened for me. On my website I tell the story in "About Me" of how coaching moved me from living "My Life, Multiple Sclerosis's Way" to living it My Way.
Start Living "Your Way" Today
One of the first steps toward living Your Life, Your Way is to eliminate everything you tolerate. Tolerations are things you put up with, bear, and endure. They range from something as small as a leaky faucet to something as significant as your children treating you disrespectfully. Tolerations drain your energy. Tolerations block the sunshine. If you're ready to take charge of your life, start now with your tolerations.
- List at least 50 things you are tolerating
- I find it helpful to divide the list into two categories:
- Tangible: Like a broken picture frame
- Intangible: Like your reaction when someone tailgates you
- One-by-one, eliminate every single toleration
- This will take time. But awareness is the first step.
- Send me any questions
- I'll answer your questions in future issues of The Coaching Corner, that way it'll help all the readers.
Believe me, if you've got a question such as, "Is it a toleration the way I get upset every time I make a mistake?" (it is) then someone else does too.
I'll meet you in The Coaching Corner next week for a discussion on Five Ways to Zap Your Tolerations.
Warmly,
Dee
